The Accudraft XL™ is a downdraft dual skin unit designed for the high-flow collision repair center. It comes standard with a 1.2 Million Btu/hr, 14,000 CFM makeup air system. The XL’s heating capabilities include Intelcure™ rapid metal temperature technology. The Intelcure™ heating system saves you time by breaking the bake cycle into two stages. First, the “pre-bake” cycle runs at a very high temperature to quickly get the vehicle’s temperature into the optimal curing range. The system then shifts to the final stage where the temperature drops to your desired curing temperature usually between 140°F and 160°F. Add the EnergySmart™ VFD system to the XL to use up to 50% less electricity and save up to 30% on gas consumption.

The biggest advantage to a downdraft paint booth is cleanliness. Air is drawn around the vehicle or painted object and exhausted from underneath the object. Downdraft paint booths pull paint overspray and contaminants downward and away from the painted object no matter where the painter is spraying. The risk of dust and overspray contamination is greatly reduced and the painter is also in a much safer environment since the overspray is pulled immediately downward and away from the painter no matter where he is standing. Finishes are generally cleaner and can translate to money saved by reducing buffing and corrections after the finish is dry.

The XL is also available in a pitless downdraft design where the entire paint booth and mechanicals are installed on a raised steel basement with drive-up ramps. This avoids the need for concrete work and still gives all the benefits of downdraft airflow.
